Is there a trial period and how long is that trial period?
Yes. There is a trial period. At the end of trial, you can
purchase the product from within the app.
Is your trial software fully functional?
Yes. Unlike many of our competitors, our trial is not a stripped
down demo version, but a fully functional version of the product.
My file didn't download. What happened?
We have seen some issues with older versions of Internet Explorer (IE8 and below). There are 2 steps to follow. First, send us an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your name and email address you used to register. We will clear the download counter and email you back. Second, once you get the email back start Internet Explorer. Go to Tools in the menu. Go to Internet Options. Click on the tab Security. Make sure you are in the Internet Zone. Click on Custom Settings. Scroll down to where it says Automatic prompting for file download. Click on Enable. Click OK. Click Apply. You should now be set to retry your download. You could also use a different browser such as the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, IE9, or Safari in the second step, and these will work as well.
What are the system requirements?
System requirements may be found on our Support
How can I purchase ProfoundSound products as a gift for someone?
Go over to our Home page and click the Buy Now button. This will take you to our store where you can purchase any of the listed products. After the purchase has been completed, you will receive an email containing the license(s) for the products purchased. You can send that email to the recipient of the gift. He can then come to our site, download the product and install it. When the product is first launched, there will be a Welcome Screen with a series of buttons on the bottom. The recipient can click on the "Activate" button and enter the license code which you sent him(her). The product will then be activated and ready to use.
Will your software run on a MAC?
Our software does not yet run natively on a MAC. However, it will run within a Windows 7 VM using Parallels, Fusion, etc. Since this is a Windows service, the audio must originate from the Windows side - i.e from Windows Media Player or any other media player installed on the Windows VM.
Help, I have no audio from my PC. What can I do?
If you are getting no audio from your system after installing ProfoundSound, we recommend that you reboot the system first. If that does not resolve the problem, go through the steps in No Audio Debug. As always, you can send a message through our Contact Us page, or email us directly at email@example.com.
I get audio from my speakers but not from my headset.
If the headphone jack is considered a different Audio Sink (not just a speaker to headphone jack de-mux), then ProfoundSound will have no effect on the headphones. During the install, ProfoundSound looks for a playback device with the name “Speakers”. The first one it finds is the one it attaches itself to until an uninstall is done. The problem is that internal speakers, HDMI speakers, USB speakers, and even some headphone jacks can all be independent sinks with the name “Speakers”. If ProfoundSound is installed when the playback device is the internal speaker, then that is where it will attach and thus will not be in the path for the other playback devices. We are working on a user-controllable, real-time switch for ProfoundSound to affect the desired audio sink, but for now the only work around is to uninstall then reinstall with the headphones attached as the playback device.
I need to disable BEATS as it interferes with ProfoundSound.
PCs that ship with BEATS use the IDT High Definition Audio driver instead of the standard High Definition Audio driver. These PCs do not provide an easy way to disable the BEATS features that are integrated into that driver. Apparently many audiophiles have complained about this. The IDT High Definition Audio driver is best if you are only using the on-board sound system, since it is integrated with some hardware specific features. However, if you revert to the standard windows driver, and then install ProfoundSound, you get a clear signal to work with, without unwanted side-effects. Here is a link to a video showing how to change to standard HD Audio, and how to revert to the old one if you want:
Disable BEATS driver.
I get no effect from ProfoundSound, and I lose audio when switching playback devices.
If you are experiencing this problem, and the fix above for no audio does not work, then you are experiencing a known bug in the software. While we are working on a permanent fix, please try the suggested workaround in PS_No Effect or no audio workaround. As always, you can send a message through our Contact Us page, or email us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.

When I upgrade from PSLite to PSCsharp, must I uninstall PSLite?
Yes, when you perform the upgrade from PSLite to PSCSharp, you must first uninstall PSLite before installing PSCSharp.
During an update, I get the message 'The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable', then I get the message 'ProfoudSoundAudio.msi cannot be found - Error 1706'.
If you get this error while updating, please uninstall ProfoundSound, then reinstall.
I get a Blue Screen of Death when trying to uninstall.
If you get a Blue Screen of Death when trying to uninstall the software, please go to the Microsoft FixIt page and run the FixIt software.
On some systems there might be an issue during the trial period if the Default (Console) Device in Control Panel -> Sound -> Playback is switched from the ProfoundSound Audio Device to any other Device (either automatically or manually). This issue had been isolated to a third party license manager and an update is expected. This issue is not present once licensed.
Multiple Instances of ProfoundSound are open.
There is nothing to prevent multiple instances of ProfoundSound being open at the same time. It is highly recommended that only one instance be open. To close the other instances, just terminate the applications by clicking on the "X" in each window that is open.
